Wednesday

Let's carry on as if yesterday's post never happened.

Exercise

So here's the interesting thing: getting a little bit of exercise is not as challenging as it sounds.
Have you heard of Google Fit? It's this really neat app that somehow magically measures all of your activity throughout the day. My initial impression is that it does so with a surprisingly high degree of accuracy, and without killing your battery life. That's Google for ya.

I started using it yesterday, when I set a goal to spend 20 minutes being active (i.e. walking). As it happened, I finished the day with 47 active minutes without even trying very hard.

So today I set a goal of 40 minutes, and at the end of the day here are the stats:
  • 96 minutes active
  • 4.6 km walked
  • 8,711 steps taken
  • 2,487 calories burned (709 of which from walking)
It really wasn't so hard; much of it was accomplished going to a meeting at CAAI headquarters,
after which I popped into the supermarket for a few things.

Let's see what happens tomorrow.

Diet

No commentary; I'm just going to leave this here and let you be the judge.

    1. LOL I guess you didn't read the fine print at the end :)
I feel a bit better after having given up but not completely. I suppose there is a broad range between treating myself like a Nazi and eating a pint of Ben & Jerry's every day. I need to find the right balance, hopefully skewed towards the latter.

P.S. Sorry about the formatting in this post. Blogger is not so good at that.

    3. OK, I may have underestimated the cookies. It was probably closer to five.
